Cross Country / Track Team

Announcement: Open Practice!

Think you might want to join the racing team? We invite all runners to test out the competitive team for an open period at the start of each quarter, ending October 11th for this Fall. You can train with us and get a feel for the team without making a commitment. Join us on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:45 on the track. Hope to see you there!

The Club Cross Country/Track Team is a subteam within the Stanford Running Club that competes in the NIRCA (National Intercollegiate Running Club Association) circuit. If you're looking to train hard, race hard, and play hard, then the competitive team is the place for you. Everyone is encouraged to participate -- whether you're an undergrad, masters student, or PhD; whether you've been training your butt off, have taken a couple year's hiatus, or are just starting up; whether you're a 10k king or 100m speedster--you'll have a place on the competitive team. Check out Coach PattiSue's summer training plan (please log in with your email to access this resource.)

Mandatory track workouts w/ Coach Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:45-7:15pm. The rest of the week we will be assigned distance runs to be completed at regular Running Club times or on your own.

Show up and work hard at track workouts.

Be diligent in keeping up with the distance runs.

Each quarter, after open practice ends, pay club dues to continue practicing with the team. This money will cover workouts and race entry fees. If this poses any financial burden, please let us know -- all students have the opportunity to compete with SRC!

Help fundraise for the team. The fundraising will be done through Stanford sponsored events like TSF letters, helping out at football games, etc.

Let us know in advance (preferably at the introductory meeting) which meets you can and cannot attend.
